By this point Tucker was 4 months old and had strong neck control and was past the newborn phase. I also began working part time and my key to finding time and motivation to exercise was routine. Everyday when I get home I immediately change into my workout clothes. Before I sit down or do anything I gear up to get my workout in. I workout for about 20 minutes and then I'm done and go on with my night.  Working out relieves my anxiety and gives me mental clarity. Battling my fatigue is a constant struggle but I push through it everyday! I workout about 4 times a week with Tucker. All my workouts can be done outside or in the house. It is possible to get back in shape without a gym and with a baby. Find your motivation and some type of accountability!

I have always been athletic and enjoy working out. However having a baby was a whole new ball game for me. Suddenly my energy levels were bottomed out and I was barely functioning. I was very adamant about breastfeeding and that presented a whole new realm of challenges.  To say I was unprepared would be an understatement. The first 6 weeks my exercise consisted of taking Tucker on walks. At the 6 week mark I began adding in a few exercises.  I wanted my body back. I couldn't believe how out of shape I was. My biggest obstacle was finding time.  I was still learning how to juggle everything and find balance. I started very slowly with a few exercises everyday in my living room and gradually increased intensity. Every time I felt like I was finding a groove and routine with my workouts ...BOOM I got mastitis. BOOM I got an awful stomach flu. BOOM had to get surgery on my mouth. The set backs were endless! It was like starting over from square one every week. Now I was 4 months postpartum and I felt like I hadn't made any progress.  My energy levels were still tanked.  One afternoon I walked down to the little gym in my complex and Tucker was giggling and squirming around as I was doing my lunges. I picked him up and finished my workout with him in my arms. He had a blast and was smiling the whole time. It made my workout fun and I was inspired to incorporate him into my workouts. That was the beginning of BABYFITGYM!
